Family Law Attorney

Job Description:

We are adding a litigation attorney to our team. While prior family law experience is highly preferred, we are seeking someone with a solid foundation in litigation. If you have spent meaningful time in Court, whether in criminal defense, immigration, estate litigation, civil practice, or another area where advocacy is central – you may be a good fit for our team. The right candidate will bring strong courtroom presence, the ability to independently move cases forward, and a competitive drive to advocate effectively for clients. You will work directly alongside firm leadership on active cases. This is a real litigation role from day one and you will learn how to practice hands-on and refine your family law skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent family law clients at hearings, trials, and contested matters across Marion County and surrounding Indiana jurisdictions.
  • Conduct depositions, manage discovery, draft and argue motions, and take ownership of a caseload.
  • Advise clients through consultations and develop legal strategy alongside firm leadership.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to keep cases moving and produce excellent work product.
  • Create legal documents including briefs, motions, pleadings, affidavits, and settlement agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Active Indiana bar license in good standing.
  • A background in family law is preferred, but we will consider experience in civil private practice litigation, such as criminal defense, immigration, estate disputes, family law, or similar.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills demonstrated in a court setting.
  • The self-direction to manage a caseload, meet deadlines, and move files forward without waiting to be told.
  • A genuine commitment to the clients you represent.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Someone who can collaborate effectively with support staff and other attorneys for reliable teamwork when it matters.
